Well, hows about that new fourm smell? This is basically where I am going to post my various NR2003 creations my ADHD filled brain comes up with.

Starting off with a Cup2000 alt-template for the Oldsmobile Cutlass.

1996-Oldsmobile-Cultass-Decaled.png

Full Decals

1996-Oldsmobile-Cultass-Classic.png

Limited Decals

I was surprised at how well the Cup2000 Grand Prix can pull this off (I figured if it can harbor the Ford Thunderbird and the Lincoln MKVIII why not a Cutlass?)

Most off the shading was me heavily rejigging the existing S&G shading that came on the Pontiac, the decals from google and the Oldsmobile text by me, as well as the custom grills.

Following on from the Cutlass, I cooked up 2 more Cup2000 cars on a whim for a potential fictional series.

36 Donald Lyons Team Monte Carlo - Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Yenko Motorsports
36-Donald-Lyons-Team-Monte-Carlo.png

This is the first team for Yenko Motorsports, this universes version of RCR, and one of the primary Chevrolet teams. This car was inspired by the Monte Carlo Intimidator Concept that previews what would be the 2000 model year Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Simple, effective, and distinct.

39 Mark Jones Coca Cola - Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Yenko Motorsports
39-Mark-Jones-Coca-Cola.png

The teammate for the Yenko stable, I basically took the #36 car, added some black, and some Coca-Cola logos. Again, simple, but easy to pick out from a crowd, just as paint schemes were back in the day.

Next up are a pair of other GM cars that have come out of the shop

49 Paul Traynor Knight Transportation - Pontiac Grand Prix - Team 49 Racing
49-Paul-Traynor-Knights-Transportation.png

I was looking up companies when I came up with the idea for a Knight Transportation car. The company was founded at the start of the 90's, so It made sense they would try and get some exposure sponsoring a mid-field race team. The base makes heavy usage of horse silhouettes and contrasting color transitions, and I'm fairly happy with how it turned out.

70 Johnathan Rekord Moore Recycling - Oldsmobile Cutlass- Rekord Motorsports
70-Johnathan-Rekord-Moore-Recycling.png

This was inspired by the #08 and #09 Winston West cars ran by Dick Midgely, notably in the 1999 Twin Ring Motegi race. A simple, bold scheme for a small, self owned independent driver that will definitely look good, even running at the tail end of the pack. The sponsors for this car are fictional, based around the kinds of local companies that usually support small independent organizations.

Today's car is a replica of a real life car, and a pretty iconic one at that.

2002 Jeff Gordon DuPont Chevrolet - Primary
2002-24-Jeff-Gordon-Du-Pont.png

Jeff Gordon cars have always been an achillies heel of mine, but now that I have a traced path layer to use, they have become MUCH more manageable.

Next up is another Hendrick car, this time Jimmie Johnson's ride

2002 Jimmie Johnson Lowes Chevrolet - Primary
48-Jimmie-Johnson-Lowes.png

This scheme is fairly simple, not much to say.

Here is a pair of identical paint schemes with 2 different drivers.

2002 Jerry Nadeau UAW-Delphi Chevrolet - Primary
2002-25-Jerry-Nadeau-Delphi.png

2002 Joe Nemechek UAW-Delphi Chevrolet - Primary
2002-25-Joe-Nemechek-Delphi.png

Nadeau started off the season, but was released after Richmond. Nemechek came over to replace him. Neither driver did too well in the car.

PLUS Bonus Round!

2002 Jerry Nadeau/Joe Nemechek UAW-Delphi Chevrolet - Reverse Numbers
2002-52-Jerry-Nadeau-Delphi.png

2002-52-Joe-Nemechek-Delphi.png

I decided to reverse the numbers so that I could include both Nadeau and Nemechek Delphi cars in the field. These are the first of the proper "extras" I plan on making

Today's very late night paint scheme is another semi-fictional. What if Ricky Hendrick drove a cup car in 2001?

2001 Ricky Hendrick GMAC Financial Chevrolet - Primary
2001-24-Ricky-Hendrick-GMAC-Financial.png

This came about due to me wanting to do something out of the ordinary, and crank out a Ricky Hendrick car. This will occasionally in my races replace Jeff Gordon when I want a change of pace.

Today sees a two pack, completing the set of Hendrick primaries from 2002

2002 Terry Labonte Kelloggs Chevrolet - Primary
2002-5-Terry-Labonte-Kelloggs.png

2002 was a rough year for Texas Terry, as he only nabbed 1 top 5, and 4 top 10s, en route to a mid 20's points finish. Ouch.

2002 Jack Sprague NetZero Chevrolet - Homestead
2002-60-Jack-Sprague-Net-Zero.png

This is Jack Sprague's real 2002 Cup ride, of which only seems to have ran at Homestead, though the only photo I can find of it is the Phoenix reveal. Most of his attempts he ran sponsored by Haas CNC.

Today I'm pivoting to the year 2000, with a set of Hendrick cars + 1 other. Most of these were done a while ago as part of other projects and just tidied up a bit.

2000 Terry Labonte Kelloggs Chevrolet - Primary
2000-5-Terry-Labonte-Kelloggs.png

2000 was the start of the beginning of the end for Texas Terry, as he failed to notch a victory for the first time since he joined HMS, and while he improve in other areas of his statline, including 2 more top 5's and a pole, his qualifying ultimately went down the drain, and a midseason injruy relegated him towards the bottom half of the teens.

2000 Jeff Gordon DuPont Chevrolet - Primary
2000-24-Jeff-Gordon-Du-Pont.png

The wonder boy would also se a small slump, as he would only score 3 wins compared to his 7 the season prior, 7 less top 5's and drop 3 spots in the points. But still, for 9th in the standings to be a "down season" shows just the caliber of driver Jeff Gordon was at the time.

2000 Jerry Nadeau Micheal Holigan Homes/MH2 Chevrolet - Atlanta 2
2000-25-Jerry-Nadeau.png

The first car based on a particular race in question, Nadeau came onboard for Hendrick's 3rd team, which had been winless for a few seasons and rotated through drivers almost yearly. He would pick up his only career win in this car, after an up and down season common for HMS 3rd wheel team.

2000 Johnny Benson Lycos.com Pontiac - Primary
2000-10-Johnny-Benson-Lycos.png

After a strong duel run, Lycos.com came onboard as a sponsor, eventually debuting this paint scheme as their primary colors. Unfortunately midseason they would be kicked off the car for non-payment, despite Benson putting up several strong showings. The team would be sold midseason to Nelson Bowers and MB2 Motorsports.

BUT, there is a second part, this time with fictional cars to add to the field. Hold on to yer' hats!

24 Ricky Craven Dupont Chevrolet - Primary
2000-24-Ricky-Craven-Du-Pont.png

I needed another #24 car like I need another hole in my head. But I did it anyways. This car in inspired by Craven's run in the #24 in the 1997 Suzuka race. No Pepsi logos as that waas more a Jeff Gordon sponsor.

2000 Buddy Baker Dupont Chevrolet - Primary
2000-46-Buddy-Baker-Du-Pont.png

This was inspired by Buddy Bakers 1993 Talladega DNQ, his last ever Cup Series attempt.

2000 Jerry Nadeau Micheal Holigan Homes/MH2 - Primary
2000-50-Jerry-Nadeau.png

There was rumors in the 1999/2000 silly season season of Micheal Holigan starting his own team, before he settled with HMS. He would eventually do so in 2004 with the short lived #50 Enzyte team. So what do you do when you combine them both? You get this thing.

50 Johnny Benson/Various Learnframe Pontiac - Primary
2000-50-Johnny-Benson-Learnframe.png

This is roughly based on Benson's 2000 Winston West car from Auto Club, using whatever little informations I could grab from the grainy footage. With no signature/name above the door, I can use this for various drivers, such as the venerable Jack Sprague(who DNQ'd for the team in 1999, WOW he got around a fair bit didn't he)

2000 Jeff Purvis/Jimmy Horton Leukemia Society Chevrolet - Primary
2000-58-Jeff-Purvis-Leukemia-Society.png

Another Hendrick alternate, this time based on the 4th car ran as an insurance policy for the 1995 NAPA 500, semi fictionalised to 2000 specifications.

2000 Scott Hansen Kodiak Chevrolet - Primary
2000-58-Scott-Hansen-Kodiak.png

This is another random addition, based on Ken Schader's 1991 ARCA car from Topeka, with ARCA driver Scott Hansen who ran a few races for him (but with different sponsorship)

Here are my newest creations I have cooked up.

2002 Bobby Labonte Interstate Batteries Pontiac - Primary
2002-18-Bobby-Labonte-Interstate-Batteries.png

Bobby Labonte had a down 2002 season dropping to 16th in points, and only one win.

2002 Tony Stewart Home Depot Pontiac - Primary
2002-20-Tony-Stewart-Home-Depot.png

Tony Stewart on the other hand won the whole deal, the dichotomy on JGR that season.

2002 Mike McLaughlin MBNA Pontiac - Primary
2002-18-Mike-Mc-Laughlin-MBNA.png

This is another Cup variant of a Busch car, this time Mike McLaughlin's 2002 ride.

2002 Bobby Labonte Interstate Batteries - Number Swap
2002-20-Bobby-Labonte-Interstate-Batteries.png

Another Labonte, this time carrying Stewarts number.

2002 Mike McLaughlin MBNA Pontiac - Number Swap

Ditto but for McLaughlin.

Not NR2003 related, but I have started working on texture mods for NASCAR Dirt to Daytona, and have created a main template for all 4 makes.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Dodge Intrepid

Ford Taurus

Pontiac Grand Prix
Pontiac-Grand-Prix-2002.png

A lot of parts for these were taken from S&G's Cup2000 and Cup03-05 templates, and as such will not be released.

Back to NR2003 with A.J. Foyt Racing and some more Gibbs cars

2002 Stacy Compton Conseco Pontiac - Primary
2002-14-Stacy-Compton-Conseco.png

Stacy Compton started off the season for A.J. Foyt, running the first 19 races, including a DNQ at Sonoma. The poor performance saw him ousted mid season

2002 Mike Wallace Conseco Pontiac - Primary
2002-14-Mike-Wallace-Conseco.png

Mike Wallace would take over after running a handfull of early season races with Andy Petree, but ultimately did no better than Compton did.

2002 P.J. Jones Conseco Pontiac - Indianapolis
2002-50-P-J-Jones-Conseco.png

Indianapolis saw the showing of the rare 3rd Foyt team, as P.J. Jones attempted to make the field for the Brickyard 400...... which he did not. P.J. would return for Watkins Glen in the #14 car securing the organizations only top 10 and top 5 finish of the season though.

2002 Coy Gibbs MBNA Pontiac - Primary
2002-20-Coy-Gibbs-MBNA.png

A different driver for the #20 team, and a color swap of the #18 and primarily based on his Truck

2002 Coy Gibbs ConAgra Foods Pontiac - Alternate
2002-20-Coy-Gibbs-Con-Agra.png

This is based on Coy Gibbs Busch car from 2002, also seen in NASCAR Thunder 2002. I don't have the decklid logos as A. they are hard to identify and B. there are about 20 of them. NOPE not going there.

2002 Coy Gibbs MBNA Pontiac - Number Swap
2002-02-Coy-Gibbs-MBNA.png

A number swapped version of the #20. This is far from the last Coy Gibbs car you'll see me make.

Today's main course is Mopar Power. A slew of Ganassi cars and one other.

Starting off with the replicas

2002 Sterling Marlin Coors Light Dodge - Primary
2002-40-Sterling-Marlin-Coors-Light.png

Sterling Marlin led most of the 2002 points chase before an injury sidelined him late in the season.

2002 Jimmy Spencer Target Dodge - Primary
2002-41-Jimmy-Spencer-Target.png

Mr. Excitement on the other hand had a very swingy season, with a best finish of 2nd and 6 top 10s, but 2 DNQ's and a dismal 27th place points finish.

And now the extras

2002 Kenny Brack Target Dodge - Primary
2002-42-Kenny-Brack-Target.png

In 2002 there were rumors of Kenny Brack running the Daytona 500, and Ganassi and Brack even tested during the preseason runnup, but sponsorship never materialized. So why not kive Brack a shot in an inverse Jimmy Spencer scheme?

2002 Jamie McMurray Coors Light Dodge - Primary
2002-42-Jamie-Mc-Murray-Coors-Light.png

In 2002, Jamie McMurray upset the NASCAR world by winning at Charlotte in only his 2nd start. So why not put him in the 3rd entry so I can let him run in more events?

2002 Rick Bogart Unsponsored Dodge - Primary
2002-70-Rick-Bogart.png

In 2002 Bogart attempted 2 Winston West races as well as the Phoenix cup race. This is based on one of those Winston West races, mainly his Vegas car, with a lot of creative liberties with sponsorship logos.

This week is a slew of Richard Childress Racing cars.

2000 Dale Earnhardt GM Goodwrench Chevy - Primary
2000-3-Dale-Earnhardt-GM-Goodwrench.png

The obligatory Dale Earnhardt car. 2000 saw a return to form for the Man In Black, a return ultimately cut short in Febuary the next season.

2002 Kevin Harvick GM Goodwrench Chevy - Primary
2002-29-Kevin-Harvick-GM-Goodwrench.png

The 2002 season was one to forget for the sophomore Harvick, with an outburst at Martinsville seeing NASCAR sideline him, in which Kenny Wallace ran the car instead. The lone highlight in a season which saw a 21st place points finish it was a win at Chicagoland.

2002 Jeff Green America Online Chevy - Primary
2002-30-Jeff-Green-America-Online.png

2002 was Jeff Green's only full time season with RCR, between a partial season in 2001 after Harvick, the original planned driver for the 30 took over the late Dale Earnhardts ride, and 2003 which saw Green ousted after a feud with Harvick. Jeff Green was actually the highest placed Childress car in 2002 in 17th, which shows the rough season the organization as a whole endured.

2002 Robby Gordon Cingular Wireless Chevrolet - Primary
2002-31-Robby-Gordon-Cingular-Wireless.png

After his shock win at New Hampshire in 2001, high hopes were expected of the hotheaded Robby Gordon, but ultimately he would have a lukewarm showing in the #31.

And as always I have a few alternate drivers to add to the set.

2000 Jay Sauter GM Goodwrench Chevy - Primary
31-Jay-Sauter-GM-Goodwrench.png

After Mike Skinner moved up to Cup, Jay Sauter was given the ride in RCR's Truck team in the late 90's, which is what inspired this alternate Goodwrench ride.

2003 Ron Hornaday Jr Childress Vineyards Chevy - Primary
2002-Ron-Hornaday-Childress-Vineyards.png

This is based on Horniday's Homestead car from 2003, not 100% exact as reference material was in short supply, mainly going off of a prior version of this car I had made.

Been a bit, but I'm back with some cars from the Wade Day Enterpises stable, based on thier Busch cars loosely translated to cup

2003 Larry Gunselman 31-W Insulation/Waterloo Tool Storage Pontiac - Primary A
2003-16-Larry-Gunselman-31-W-Instulation.png

Larry Gunselman was hired to drive the #16 car full time in 2003, and didn't do so hot, having a bad habit of crashing more often than would have liked. This car is lacking a majority of the small associates, but I'm ok with that for this team.

2003 Justin Ashburn 31-W Insulation Pontiac - ARCA
2003-58-Justin-Ashburn-31-W-Instulation.png

This car was based on Ashburn's ARCA car in which he wrecked in the season opener.

2003 Justin Ashburn 31-W Insulation Pontiac - Primary
2003-61-Justin-Ashburn-31-W-Instulation.png

Justin Ashburn drove a second car for Wade Day, not doing much better than Gunselman, usually dropping out of the race early on.

2003 Mark Day 31-W Insurance Pontiac - Primary
2003-81-Mark-Day-31-W-Instulation.png

The team entered a third (yes, THIRD) entry at the season opening race at Daytona, but failed to qualify.

2003 Sammy Sanders 31-W Insulation Pontiac - Primary
2003-58-Sammy-Sanders-31-W-Instulation.png

Basically the Ashburn car but with a different driver who ran a smidgen of races at the turn of the decade.

2003 Larry Gunselman 31-W Insulation/Waterloo Tool Storage Pontiac - Number Swap
2003-61-Larry-Gunselman-31-W-Instulation.png

Number swap of the previous Gunselman car for when other teams run the #16

I have found some inspiration for a new project. Many people over the years have created alternate fantasy paint schemes for real world drivers, so I decided, why not? The mod I settled on is Cup2000, where I have done a lot of my more recent paints (many of which have yet to be posted here) using the variety of alternate templates made for the mod (and a few that I'll make myself.)

#2 Rusty Wallace Miller Lite - Lincoln Mark VIII
2 Rusty Wallace Miller Lite Lincoln.png
I've always had ideas about what a Penske Lincoln would look like, and I finally made something I'm happy with. It definitely is a different take on the blue deuce, with miller gold and dark red prominent on the car as accent colors, and the number slanted forwards instead of back.

Next up in the project is a fictional teammate to Rusty Wallace, Open Wheel star "Little Al"

#02 Al Unser Jr. Penske Racing - Lincoln Mark VIII
02 Al Unser Jr Penske Racing Lincoln.png
This car isn't too far off reality, as Al Unser Jr. did attempt Daytona in 1994. The thought in my head would be this car would run the Daytona 500, both Michigan races, the Brickyard, and California. The car carries Penske Racing logos instead of Marlboro as I doubt R.J. Reynolds would be happy about logos of a rival Phillips Morris brand on track.

Next in line are the first Pontiacs.

#18 Bobby Labonte Interstate Batteries - Pontiac Grand Prix
18 Bobby Labonte Interstate Batteries Pontiac.png
This, like most of my cars in this set, is based off the 1997 season (aside from the contigs which are obviously wrong.) This scheme is one that I made a while ago, but revamped to current standards. Another thing that will be prominant is colored wheels, something I love as when done right it adds extra color to a cheme.

#18 Bobby Labonte Interstate Batteries/Shell - Pontiac Grand Prix
18 Bobby Labonte Interstate Shell Pontiac.png
The first alternate paint scheme, the base transitions from Interstate Green to Shell Yellow towards the rear, along with yellow wheels to differentiate.

Some smaller teams are on tap this time. here we go!

#4 Sterling Marlin Kodak Gold Film - Oldsmobile Cutlass
4 Sterling Marlin Kodak Gold Film Oldsmobile.png
I figured if any team should run an Oldsmobile, it is the team that ran them for a majority of their early years. Tha black was inspired by Eddie Berischwale and Rick Wilson's 1986 rides, while I incorporated the ribbon into a fade that goes around the sides

#11 Brett Bodine Unsponsored - Lincoln MkVIII
11 Brett Bodine Bodine Brothers Racing Lincoln.png
This is a modification of Bodines real life Close Call Phone card machine, just without sponsorship, as they ended up not paying and the car ran the last few races unsponsored. The white shakes things up, while the ribbon colors have been added to the trim pieces as accent colors. The hood sponsor reveals another fictitious twist, as since Brett and Geoffery Bodine ran self owned Fords, why not have the brothers merge operations into one team?

So I was doing template experiments, and created this:

1993-1997 Chevrolet Camaro
1993-1997 Chevrolet Camaro.png

This started as a random idea and self-imposed challenge so try and turn a Grand Prix into an F-body, and I think it turned out basically as well as such a project could.
