(If you are wondering, yes, this was the 2013 Mock Series Thread, however I wanted to start a new one without pretty much littering the threads with dead mock series and since the 2013 Thread has been abandoned for some time, I may as well just reimagine the post with something new)

Welcome along to a brand-new season of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing. 2010 has been brewing all throughout the off-season, and with the switch from Wings to Spoiler during the off-season, this NASCAR season is sure to produce some action pack racing throughout the season. Many changes have been sweeping over silly season, so without further due, lets dive into the changes for the new decade.

Keys: Retired - Dropped - Rookie - Changed Teams

  • After 4 underwhelming seasons with Jack Roush & the maximum limit of cars per team reduced from 5 to 4, Jamie McMurray will move to Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing's #1 entry with full-time sponsorship from Bass Pro Shops & McDonalds's.
  • With McMurray in the #1, Martin Truex Jr moves on from Earnhardt-Ganassi to Michael Waltrip Racing's 2nd Entry: The Renumbered #56 Napa Auto Parts Toyota replacing Michael Waltrip who retired from full-time racing last year and will now drive in select races (including the Daytona 500) in a 3rd Car, The #51.
  • After a Horrendous 2009 Season, David Stremme has been let go, with 2009 Aarons 499 Winner, Brad Keselowski replacing him for his first full-time season (Despite being his first Full-Time season, he does not compete for ROTYH)
  • 2003 Truck Series Champion, Mike Bliss has been hired by Tommy Baldwin Racing to drive their #36 Wave Energy Chevrolet for at least 14 races this year.
  • Despite planned to go full-time in the Nationwide Series, Kevin Conway has silicified a rock-solid deal with Front Row Motorsports to extend the lifespan of the #37 Car for the team with full-time sponsorship from the one and only: E X T E N Z E (This possibly cannot go wrong at all:)
  • After bouncing from ride-to-ride last season, Travis Kvapil will compete Full-Time for Front Row Motorsports in the #34 Long John Silver's Ford.
  • After driving the #44 last season, A.J Allmendinger has moved to the #43 Best Buy as the #44 gets rebranded to the #98 Menards Ford for Paul Menard. (RPM switches from Dodge to Ford for the Season)
  • A new team, Whitney Motorsports enters the Sprint Cup Series in 2010 with journeyman Terry Cook running for ROTY honors.
  • Michael McDowell will drive the #55 Full-Time for Prism Motorsports alongside Dave Blaney in the #66.
  • After an underwhelming 2009 Season, 2000 Sprint Cup Champion, Bobby Labonte will drive full-time for TRG Motorsports in the #71 Taxslayer.com Chevrolet.
  • And Finally, Another New Team, Keyed Up Motorsports will attempt the full season with 2007 Coke 600 Winner, Casey Mears in the #90 Chevrolet

Other Notes for the Season:

1. I'm not covering Exhibition Races.
2. I'm running 25% Distance for All Races.
3. Due to BC being a pain in the butt and killing the framerate in the game, I will be sticking to 2003 rules for this season (like racing back to line, and Single File restarts) so expect random tomfoolery in some races.
4. I'll be using points format and versions of track from which the timeline takes place (so we'll have the 2007 Points Format and a lot of Revamped Reload tracks.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this series and I'll see you for the Daytona 500!

Welcome everybody to the 52nd Annual Running of the Daytona 500. I am your host, Bryan R, and 42 of NASCAR's greatest drivers are prepared to kick this season off into gear!

After coming up short of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship, Mark Martin will start on the pole with 2004 Daytona 500 winner, Dale Jr. on his outside.

Now as they take the command to fire the engines, here is your starting lineup.

Lap 1: As the field went to Turn 3, Dave Blaney (who somehow managed to qualify in 9th) tagged the 00 of Reutimann sending him up the track, into Harvick and Hornish, sending all 3 into the wall with Tony Stewart, Casey Mears, and Aric Almiroli adding fuel to the fire shortly after.

And to make things more chaotic, during this ordeal, the 19 of Sadler gets spun by Nemechek spinning him into the 34 of Kvapil, causing him to crash into the wall with the already crashed machines of Harvick, Hornish, Stewart, Mears, and Almirola.

(For anyone wondering, Jimmie Johnson was not happy with the shenanigans of Kvapil and approach him after the race, later stating that he should be fined for the BS he was doing on the track. So far, NASCAR has not yet decided whether to penalize the 34 or not.)
